Keto Texas Toast
- 4 slices of keto bread (or make your own using almond flour)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Mix butter, mozzarella, parmesan, and garlic powder.
- Spread on keto bread slices.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Sloppy Joe Filling
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 70/30)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (8 oz) sugar-free tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar (optional)
- Brown ground beef in a skillet.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; cook until tender.
- Stir in tomato sauce, paste, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes, adding beef broth as needed.
- Top with cheddar (if using).
Assembly
- Place Sloppy Joe filling on keto Texas Toast.
- Top with another slice of toast (optional).
