Ingredients

Meat Base

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • ½ lb (225 g) Italian sausage (pork or chicken, casings removed)
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Sauce Layer

  • 1 cup low-carb marinara sauce

Cheese Layer

  • 2½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded provolone or cheddar
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Add-Ins

  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Green bell peppers
  • Olives
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a deep 9-inch pie dish or springform pan.
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in half of the pepperoni and any optional veggies.
  5. Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared dish, forming a thick base and slightly up the sides.
  6. Spread marinara evenly over the meat layer.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella, provolone (or cheddar), and Parmesan on top.
  8. Add remaining pepperoni on top of the cheese.
  9. Bake uncovered 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Rest 10 minutes before slicing for clean pieces.
