🍯 Mediterranean Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese Rolls

Warm, flaky, and naturally sweet — a guilt-free Mediterranean twist on a cozy classic.

Servings: 8 rolls | Prep Time: 15 mins | Bake Time: 15–18 mins | Total Time: 30 mins

🧁 Ingredients

For the Dough (2 Options):

  • 🫓 Option 1 (Quick) – 1 sheet whole wheat puff pastry or phyllo dough
  • 🫓 Option 2 (Homemade) – 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour, ½ cup Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp olive oil, pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 4 oz light cream cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp honey or date syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 2 tbsp honey (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

🥣 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon until creamy.
  3. Prepare the Dough:
    • If using puff pastry/phyllo, roll out and cut into rectangles.
    • If using homemade dough, mix ingredients, roll thin, and cut into rectangles (approx. 4×6 inches).
  4. Fill and Roll:
Spoon 1–2 tsp of filling onto each rectangle. Roll up tightly like a small log and seal edges.
  5. Brush and Bake:
Place rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Brush lightly with olive oil and bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Add Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
While warm, drizzle lightly with honey and sprinkle cinnamon over the top (or brush with olive oil + sprinkle coconut sugar + cinnamon).
