Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (or beef + pork mix)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil (for browning)

Creamy Swedish Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp sour cream for extra richness

Instructions

1. Preheat

Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).


2. Make the Meatballs

  1. Mix ground meat, egg, almond flour, parmesan, and seasonings.
  2. Roll into 1–1.5 inch meatballs.
  3. Brown in a skillet with butter/oil until golden (they don’t need to cook through).
  4. Place browned meatballs into a baking dish.

3. Make the Swedish Cream Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter.
  2. Add beef broth, scraping browned bits.
  3. Add heavy cream + cream cheese and whisk until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in Dijon, Worcestershire, garlic/onion powder, salt, pepper.
  5. Let simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened slightly.

4. Assemble & Bake

  • Pour the creamy sauce over the meatballs in the baking dish.
  • Bake 20–25 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and meatballs are fully cooked.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
